Lesson 121: It's About Time For A Paradigm Shift
The old paradigm of social organization is based on collectivism, utilitarianism, and obedience to a central authority. The new paradigm is based on individualism, natural law, and personal responsibility.
“A paradigm shift is when we change the way we think about or approach something, and it can have a profound impact on our lives. It allows us to see things in a new light and can open up new opportunities and possibilities.” - internet quote
A very large percentage of adults implicitly believe in the old paradigm of social organization (collectivism, utilitarianism, and obedience to authority) but at the same time they see chaos, conflict, and violence developing all around them. This creates an uncomfortable feeling called cognitive dissonance. At some point the feeling gets so uncomfortable that people begin to question their paradigm and look around for a replacement that is congruent with reality.
Is there a paradigm shift brewing in Argentina? The former professor of economics and newly elected president Milei is a Rothbardian anarcho-capitalist which means he wants to eliminate all government interference in economic and social affairs. In other words he wants to move Argentina in the direction of the natural society. This experiment will be very interesting to watch. He is up against many power seekers who have a lot to lose and still have enough power to resist his changes.
